I don't really know how to respond to why the authors write about killing, each story has a very morbid ending, and it makes you wonder where authors come up with the ideas for these stories.
Perhaps it's because they're trying to explore all aspects of human nature, and express how they see that part, or maybe its perhaps it is some sick psychological problem they need to work out on paper to refrain from acting upon it themselves.
Either way I don't really know.

I thought about the mental illness thing and a according to an essay that I had to read for another class that Stephen King wrote, that is exactly what it is, But I have my own theory.
ReplyDeleteEither way it's not an easy question. I appreciate your thoughts.
It is interesting and disturbing at times to look at how morbid some of these stories are. I agree that it is a little weird how some people focus on killing more than others. I hope that it is a way for them to grapple with that dark side and get it out without hurting anyone. It also may be that these writers just like to shock people as well and get a kick out of it.
